In 2001 the steel industry ArcelorMittal, in that time Arcelor Group, elected Veolia Environnement as a partner to assume the Multi Utility Plant in its industrial complex in São Francisco do Sul, Santa Catarina – Brazil.

Together to the Industrial Complex, CLE Brasil was created, a specific company with the proposal to fulfill a 15 years contract type BOO (Built Own Operate). The investment of 35 millions of Euros, foreseen the implementations of a Central of Multiple Utilities with: energy, complete water cycle, industrial gases, compressed air and complete management of industrial waste. The contract firmed the obligation in supplying, in measured results, the availability of 98,5% of the utilities.
At CLE, the operations happen in a two ways process: finished utilities are sent to the client and parallel primary utilities are received to be treated: A closed cycle, with an integrated team of operation and maintenance with total control over the developed activities.
Showing to be totally committed with the objectives and aims established by ARCELOR, the industrial enterprise of CLE Brasil, after 11 months of the beginning of its activities, had already received the certificates ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
